Office Depot at Seminole Square shopping center plans to relocate to a smaller retail space this summer.
According to a person with knowledge of the shopping center’s plans, the office supply, office furniture and copy center store is following a national trend by big box retailers in downsizing the footprint of their brick and mortar locations.
“I think this happened about three or four years ago, when the market started to change. Retailers started to look at their store sizes,” the source said. "We’re seeing a lot of the big retailers develop smaller footprints.”
Company officials could not be immediately reached for comment this morning.
