l The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its Leadership Charlottesville Class of 2011. Class members will participate in an exciting learning experience and build a network of individuals, businesses and community. l A new business in Charlottesville, Leftover Luxuries, bridges the gap between auction houses and tag sales. The inspiration of interior designer Wendi Smith, the company is a venue for locals to move items they no longer want to make room for new items. Focusing on new and gently used furniture and home accessories, the company has a secondary focus on personal designer and vintage items such as clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories. Consignors keep 60 percent of their sold items while the company provides the rented venue space, advertising and promotional material

l VMDO Architects’ Manassas Park Elementary School and Pre-Kindergarten project was selected by the American Institute of Architects and its Committee on the Environment as one of the top 10 examples of sustainable architecture and green design solutions that protect and enhance the environment and will be honored at the AIA 2010 National Convention and Design Exposition. VMDO Architects focuses on customized planning and design for clients throughout the United States, specializing in design for public schools and higher education institutions.

l Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC announced the addition of Real Estate III, a Charlottesville-based real estate firm founded in 1972, which will now operate as Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III. Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC is an international real estate brand that offers a full range of services to brokers, sales associates and home buyers and sellers.

l Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard won medals at four established regional wine competitions, including silver medals in the 2010 San Diego International Wine Competition, gold and silver medals in the Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival, a silver medal in the Dallas Morning News Wine Competition and a silver medal in the Monterey Wine Competition. Established in 1999, Kluge Estate Winery is located on Carter’s Mountain in Albemarle County and boasts 2,000-acres, 220 of which are under vine.

l McClung Companies has added wide-format printing to its list of services. A full-service graphics communications organization, it can now print material in bold color at any length and up to 42 inches wide on paper, vinyl, fabric displays, magnetic signs and canvas. McClung has served the graphics communication needs of Central and Northern Virginia for more than 60 years.
