» The Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors recently installed Bradley Conner as president for the 2012. Conner has been a member since 2000. » Garrette Ashley, Brittany Smythers and Mark Wheeler recently became staff accountants in the A and A Department of Hantzmon Wiebel LLP.

» Eric Parker was recently promoted to first vice president, wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. 

» John Kerber was installed as the 2012 president for the Blue Ridge Home Builders Association. Kerber is the president and CEO of Dominion Development Co. Also serving BRHBA as officers in 2012 are: Doug Kingma, immediate past president; Charlie Armstrong,vice president; Jessica Ammons, associate vice president; Troy Yancey, treasurer; and Tracie Skipper, secretary. » Shield Jones, marketing director for Nicholls Auction Marketing Group Inc., will serve as president for the 54th annual Virginia Auctioneers Association educational convention held in Charlottesville. Jones, a graduate of Virginia Tech and a second-generation auctioneer, has represented the Virginia auction industry in the past as the 2008 Virginia Auctioneer of the Year.

» The Local Energy Alliance Program recently honored Peter Johnson as Climate Control Craftsman for Best Remodel Combined with Energy Retrofit. Johnson, of Peter Johnson Builders, LLC, was among a handful of local contractors recognized for efforts to bring more energy efficiency to Central Virginia.

» Catherine Neelley has been named general manager of the Lake Monticello Owner’s Association by the board of directors and President Britt Johnson. Neelley has a 14-year career with the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, which owns and operates Monticello. Neelley most recently had the title of assistant director of visitor operations and visitor experience manager.

» Joanna Vondrasek, associate professor of biology at Piedmont Virginia Community College, was recently named a BEN Scholar by the National Science Digital Library. BEN Scholars are considered leaders in the biological sciences who have a passion for improving undergraduate education through digital library resources and student-centered teaching. Vondrasek teaches introductory biology, cell biology and genetics at PVCC.
