l Raymond James Financial Services Inc. was recently ranked the best full service broker in the 2009 SmartMoney Annual Broker Survey. This is the second consecutive year that the firm holds top honors. Raymond James is a national investment firm with offices in Charlottesville.
l Horse and Buggy Produce of Charlottesville will begin distributing its locally grown food in Richmond. Since 2006, the cooperative has been working with Old Order Mennonite farmers in the Shenandoah Valley to provide food produced in small plot, personal gardens using traditional farming methods. Horse and Buggy has served Charlottesville, Crozet and Lynchburg since 2006.
l Beights Corp. announced the addition of da Luca Café and Wine Bar to the Old Trail Village Center. Created by local resident and custom home builder Domenico D’Auria, da Luca will feature freshly prepared Mediterranean dishes and an extensive selection of wines and beers. Da Luca is scheduled to open in August.
l Bundoran Farm in Albemarle County was designated as a Certified Gold Signature Sanctuary by Audubon International. Signature certification is awarded only to new developments that are designed, constructed and maintained according to Audubon international’s standards for planning and environmental stewardship. Gold, the highest level of certification, is reserved for projects complying with the most exacting of these standards. Bundoran Farm is the first development in Virginia to receive this honor and the first working farm to be certified in the Audubon International Signature Programs.
