l Gov. Timothy M. Kaine has appointed Robert F. Scott, of Charlottesville, to the Virginia Fire Services Board. Scott is operations manager of State Farm Fire and Casualty.

l Steve Davis has been appointed director of sustainable design at VMDO Architects. Davis has been with VMDO for more than seven years and has worked on a diverse number of projects including the John Paul Jones Arena, Charlottesville Transit System Operations Center and Wintergreen Resort’s Associate Housing. He is a LEED accredited professional.

l Theresa L. Deese, AVP and branch manager at Carter Bank and Trust in Charlottesville, graduated from the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. The three-year school is sponsored by the Virginia Bankers Association in cooperation with the McIntire School of Commerce at UVa.

l Lee Brady has joined the Charlottesville branch of SunTrust Mortgage Inc. as a mortgage loan officer. Brady has more than 25 years experience in the real estate industry, including working as a real estate investor for more than 20 years. He has been in the mortgage business since 2002 and specializes in all types of mortgage lending.
