1-vehicle accident on U.S. 29 kills driver

The Albemarle County Police Department is investigating a one-vehicle accident that killed a Faber man Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 29 South between North Garden and Covesville.

A 1999 Isuzu Amigo sport utility vehicle driven by Edward Lee Wright Jr., 42, was traveling southbound about 4:30 p.m. when it went off the road and struck several trees in the median, according to the Albemarle County Police Department.

Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five deaths have been reported on Albemarle County roads so far in 2009, compared to only one during the same period in 2008.
