Three women were killed in three separate vehicle accidents over the weekend in Louisa County.

The first crash occurred Friday night when Temera McGrath of Mineral crashed her 1991 Buick Riviera into a tree off Route 618.

Virginia State Police investigators believe that McGrath, 37, ran off the road and overcorrected as she re-entered the highway. She then flew off the road again and hit a tree head-on at around 6:50 p.m.

Police had not yet released the name of the second victim Monday morning, but Sgt. John Rehme of the Virginia State Police said the female victim died when she crashed her car in Louisa at around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The county’s third fatality occurred at around 4:39 p.m. Saturday when Sandra Anderson of Troy crashed a Honda CM200 motorcycle into an SUV.

Anderson, 47, had been riding on Route 22 when she struck the other vehicle. The occupants of the SUV suffered only minor injuries.

Anderson’s bike caught fire, burning it beyond recognition, police said.
