Orange, Madison road work planned

Orange and Madison county motorists should expect delays as highway crews begin work today on road improvements.

The first will repair decks and joints on bridges over the Rapidan River on U.S. 15 and Route 231 and on Route 20 over Mine Run. The work is scheduled to be complete in mid-August.

An epoxy overlay will be placed on the bridge decks.

Crews today also will begin improvements to Route 642 in Madison. The project will consist of grading, widening the road, replacing pipes, restoring ditch lines and establishing proper drainage. The project is expected to be completed by Oct. 30.

Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and delays.
