Real estate, vehicle taxes are due today

Real estate and personal property taxes are due in Charlottesville and Albemarle County by the close of business today.

For Charlottesville, payments can be made at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; mailed to 605 E. Main St., Charlottesville, VA 22902 if postmarked by today; or dropped into one of the three white boxes around City Hall. Starting this year

Charlottesville residents can pay their taxes and license fees with a debit card without incurring any fees.

In Albemarle County, taxes can be paid by MasterCard, Visa or debit by calling 1-866-884-9810; online at http://www.albemarle.org/paytaxes; or at the county office buildings on Fifth Street Extended and McIntire Road.

To use the county’s “express” window at 401 McIntire Road, residents must have cash or a check along with their bill.
