A Bedford County woman who blogged about a Charlottesville-area undercover police force has received a suspended sentence of six months in jail. Elisha Strom was convicted of misdemeanor obstruction of justice Thursday morning in Charlottesville General District Court and sentenced to suspended jail time and $526 in court costs.

Strom, 34, is the author of a blog called “I HeArTE JADE,” on which she posted information about the members and doings of the Jefferson Area Drug Enforcement task force. Authorities have said that posting pictures and names of undercover officers could put them in danger.

Authorities executed a search warrant July 16 at Strom’s Thaxton home, where they removed computers, cameras and notebooks, according to court records. Strom originally was charged with felony use of a person’s identity with the intent to harass law enforcement.
