Albemarle police are searching for a robber who made off with cash from a 7-Eleven early Thursday morning.

At about 2:15 a.m., a man armed with a gun walked into the convenience store at the Hydraulic Road and U.S. 29 intersection and demanded money, according to Lt. Todd Hopwood, with Albemarle police.

The man got an undisclosed amount of cash and left on foot.

Police searched the area but found no one, Hopwood said.

The robber is described as a 6-foot-tall white male with a medium build. He wore a dark jacket and light-colored pants. He also had his face covered.
