Man arrested in non-fatal shooting

Albemarle County police arrested a man in connection with an early Sunday morning shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Charlottesville resident Francisco Prudenta, 20, faces numerous charges, including malicious wounding, use of a firearm in a felony and shooting into an occupied dwelling. Police said additional charges might be pending.

The shooting occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of Commonwealth Drive in Albemarle. Police said the victim, a 25-year-old man, was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities did not know his updated condition as of Sunday evening.
