At about 1:20 a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s deputies responded to 2602 Bridge Road for a reported shooting, according to Sheriff William G. Kidd Jr. Once there, deputies found the 19-year-old man, from Appomattox.

He was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment. The sheriff’s office released no details concerning the victim’s injuries.

The sheriff said investigators are looking for a suspect they consider armed and dangerous.

Buckingham native Lance Daryl Perkins, 20, is wanted in connection with the shooting, the sheriff said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (434) 969-1772.
