Members of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors are hosting town hall meetings to discuss the county’s proposed $307.7 million budget.
Supervisor Ann H. Mallek, who represents the White Hall District, said that “many people find it inconvenient to attend board meetings,” and the town hall meetings will allow residents to discuss the spending plan with her and other residents.
Supervisors Sally H. Thomas, representing the Samuel Miller District, and David L. Slutzky, representing Rio, are also hosting meetings.
The scheduled events:

March 2: 7 p.m. at Red Hill Elementary School. Hosted by Thomas.
March 3: 6:30 p.m. at Earlysville Volunteer Fire Company Community Center.
Hosted by Mallek and Slutzky.
March 9: 6:30 p.m. at Henley Middle School’s cafeteria. Hosted by Mallek and Thomas.
March 10: 7 p.m. at Murray Elementary School. Hosted by Thomas.
March 17: 6:30 p.m. at White Hall Community Center. Hosted by Mallek.

The county executive’s budget recommendation is online at http://www.albemarle.org.
Residents can address the entire Board of Supervisors about the budget proposal during a public hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the County Office Building on McIntire Road.
