RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) _ Proceedings in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a University of Vermont student from Virginia are being delayed because the suspect is sick.
Vermont District Court manager Laurie Canty says testimony Friday could be canceled because 37-year-old defendant Brian Rooney is ill. The court was awaiting a doctor’s evaluation of him before deciding whether to proceed.
Rooney is charged in the 2006 slaying of 21-year-old Michelle Gardner-Quinn of Arlington.
