l The Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia Chapter announced that Our Lady of Peace, Monticello Media, the Charlottesville Newsplex, Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg and Carilion Clinic in Roanoke have become corporate partners of the association in order to enhance educational resources for families and those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related disorders.

l SNL Financial of Charlottesville was named one of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States for the second consecutive year in the 2009 edition of the “Inc. 5000” list, with 2008 revenues of $86.3 million, an increase of 119 percent over three years.

l McGuireWoods LLP was named a 2009 “Best Law Firm for Women” by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC. The list honors the 50 law firms for their commitment to the retention and advancement of female talent. McGuireWoods has a branch office in Charlottesville.

l Sir Speedy of Charlottesville received the Century Club Award, which recognizes 100 of the top franchises for outstanding sales achievement in 2008. Sir Speedy provides printing and marketing services designed to help companies grow.

l Nest Realty of Charlottesville was recognized as the nation’s Most Innovative Brokerage by Inman News’ 2009 Inman Innovator Awards. The award recognizes companies in North America and abroad that use technology and innovation for the benefit of consumers and real estate professionals.
