Robert M. Blue, an Albemarle County native, has been promoted to senior vice president, public policy and corporate communications, at Dominion Virginia Power. Blue, previously vice president, state and federal affairs, will be responsible for state and federal government affairs, environmental programs, corporate communications, community affairs and philanthropy.

VibeAgent.com, a Charlottesville-based Web site that combines comparison shopping for the best hotel deals, has appointed John DeMarchi director of user experience. DeMarchi has 10 years of experience, including positions at Orbitz Worldwide, Pronto.com and Priceline.com. In his new position, he will spearhead all user-centered design and research and development efforts.

l Professor Susan Chaplinsky will become the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration’s associate dean for faculty scholarship July 1. Chaplinsky, who teaches and researches in the areas of corporate finance and capital raising, will promote excellence in scholarship while facilitating and coordinating the scholarly activities of the Darden faculty. She has authored several scholarly articles and case studies.
