l The Institute for Independent Business International has accredited Central Virginia development executive Rick Randolph. Randolph’s accreditation expands his whole-health coaching business to now include practical consulting advice for small businesses and nonprofits in the Charlottesville, Lynchburg and Shenandoah Valley areas.
l The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce has selected R. Grant Tate as its 2008 Small Business Person of the Year. Tate is the chief executive officer of The Bridge LTD, a management development consulting firm. Using the guiding principles of inspired leadership and innovative organization, Tate and his partners help executives from all sectors of the business world meet their individual and business goals.
l Hantzmon Wiebel LLP announced that Shari Cook Holt has joined the firm as an administrative assistant, and Marsha Hardy Rea has joined the firm as an internal accountant.
l Sherry D. Graves has been promoted to president and chief executive officer of Martha Jefferson House, Charlottesville’s oldest retirement community. Graves has been with Martha Jefferson House since 1989, serving as a unit clerk in the nursing care area when first hired and most recently serving as administrator and chief operating officer.
l Martin Horn Inc. announces the hiring of the following: Mike Vosper is the IT manager and previously worked as network engineer at SNL Financial; Rob Hattler is an assistant project manager and previously worked for NVR Homes in South Carolina; Chad Noble is a project manager and previously worked as project manager at Ryan Homes.
l Danielle Fitz-Hugh, vice president-member service for the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, recently completed the Virginia Association Chamber of Commerce Executives Institute, which strives to develop the professional skills of chamber executives, staff and volunteer leaders. The VACCE Institute is a three-year program demonstrating commitment to personal and professional development for the improvement of the Chamber of Commerce served.
l Roger Burchett, of the Gray Television cluster in Charlottesville, has been promoted to vice president and general manager of WTVY-TV, the CBS affiliate in Dothan, Ala. Burchett served as vice president and general manager for Gray’s WCAV-TV, WVAW-LP, WAHU-CA and its associated digital sub channels. He has been with the stations since just after their launch in the fall of 2004.
l Brad Ramsey has been named vice president and general manager of Gray’s Charlottesville station group, including WCAV CBS19, WVAW ABC16 and WAHU FOX27. He will also oversee My C’ville TV, Charlottesville’s My Network affiliate and Weather Now, Gray’s 24-hour Charlottesville weather channel. Ramsey most recently served as general manager of TV3 Winchester and had been with the station as its founding general manager since January 2006.
