l L. B. “Brad” Chandler Jr., senior partner at The Chandler Law Group, has been listed in the 2008 Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine. Chandler was selected in the category of personal injury attorneys.

l Alison Gaucher was named to the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation Board. Gaucher is a health educator at the University of Virginia Breast Care Program.

 

l The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library Board of Trustees has named Perri Rush Brown, representing Charlottesville, as its new president; Timothy F. Jost Tolson, representing Albemarle County, as its new vice president; and Mary Coy of Nelson County and Gary Grant of Albemarle County have been appointed trustees.

 

PHOTOl Brian Wisniewski has joined Piedmont Virginia Community College as chief information officer, responsible for all aspects of information technology. Wisniewski will oversee telecommunications, network services, administrative computing, help desk and e-mail services and information security.

 

l The following lawyers from the Charlottesville office of McGuire Woods have been named Virginia’s Rising Stars 2008 in a recent study by Law and Politics and published in the July edition of the publication’s Richmond Magazine: Suzanne R. Bednar, estate planning and probate; Alden J. English, business/corporate; Julie A. King, estate planning and probate; and James F. Neale, personal injury defense/general.

 

l Charlottesville native Preston Moore Jr. has been hired as vice president and commercial loan officer at the new Virginia Community Bank Loan Production Office in Charlottesville. Moore earned his bachelor of arts and master of business administration degrees from the University of Virginia and brings over 25 years of commercial lending and development experience to the position. He is charged with establishing the office while working to expand the bank’s lending portfolio.

 

l Michael H. Kaminski, resident director and financial adviser for Merrill Lynch, received the prestigious David Brady award in New York City. The award, named for David Brady, who died in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, honors Merrill Lynch advisers who excel in integrity, community service, teamwork, partnership and business achievement. Kaminski was one of seven recipients nationwide.
