l Liz Rush of Cedars Golden Living, Angel Saylor of Trinity Mission and Bob Stevens of Home Instead Inc., certified nursing assistants of Charlottesville, were selected to attend the Voices Institute by the National Direct Care Alliance. The institute was held in Racine, Wash., and focused on learning about advocacy, fundraising, organizational development, public speaking and ways to raise awareness of the work of direct care workers. Rush, Saylor and Stevens were chosen along with 47 other participants from across the country after a competitive selection process.

l Hotelicopter.com of Charlottesville, a hotel search engine designed to help travelers find the right hotel at the best rate, appointed Carl Schwartz as its chief marketing officer. Schwartz brings 15 years of Internet marketing experience to the management team.
