Waynesboro center shows the ‘Found and Faux’ art
The Invitational Gallery at the Shenandoah Valley Art Center is featuring award-winning artists Robert Villamagna and Herb Weaver.
The two artists collaborated in a presentation, which they call “Found and Faux.” The exhibition shows the power of effective composition in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work.
Both artists rely heavily on the object to fulfill artistic endeavor. Villamagna works with found objects. Weaver works with his created faux objects.
Both men teach in West Virginia. Villamagna is a professor of art at West Liberty State College. Weaver is a professor of fine arts at Bethany College. Both have a long list of exhibitions and awards to their credit.
“Found and Faux” will continue through Jan. 6.
The Hallway and Member’s galleries hare hosting an annual exhibition of small, reasonably priced art aimed at holiday purchasers. There will be everything from small paintings to jewelry, pottery, wood objects, cards and ornaments. Proceeds will benefit the center.
The Shenandoah Valley Art Center is at 126 S. Wayne Ave. in Waynesboro. Galleries are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
