Kluge-Ruhe offers new art, new hours
Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection will reopen Tuesday with new hours in which to enjoy new exhibits. Visitors can see the works from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The change in hours is the first since the museum opened in 1999.
Starting Tuesday are “Gelam Nguzu Kazi (Dugong My Son),’’ an exhibition of limited-edition linocut prints by artists from the Torres Strait Islands, which can be seen through Oct. 12, and “All-Time Favorites: Best-Loved Works from the Kluge-Ruhe Collection,’’ to remain on view until Aug. 9, 2009.

Art and law unite in free seminar
“The Life Cycle of Artists: Law, the Arts and You’’ will be presented from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Light House Studio in the City Center for Contemporary Arts.
The free seminar, presented by the Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, Piedmont Council of the Arts and Second Street Gallery, will cover a wide range of topics of legal interest for visual, literary and performing artists.
