“Boom a Ring” comes to JPJ

Asian elephants, white tigers and the gravity-defying Wheel of Steel will fill the John Paul Jones Arena when Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey’s “Boom a Ring’’ arrives for performances on Dec. 11, 12, 13 and 14.

Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Oct. 13.

“Boom a Ring’’ bounces from one high-energy act to the next. There will be acrobats from around the world, a daring crossbow demonstration, a high-wire act and more.

Performances are set for 7 p.m. Dec. 11, 7 p.m. Dec. 12, 11 a.m. and 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 13 and 1 p.m. Dec. 14.

An all-access pre-show session is free to all ticket holders. Plan to arrive an hour early to meet performers and animals, try your hand at some circus skills and get into the big-top spirit before the show.
