The 155-member Charlottesville High School Symphony Orchestra brings together the CHS Orchestra and the top members of the CHS Wind Ensemble.

The annual concert, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center, will feature 100 singers from throughout the Charlottesville school system, including students, faculty members and staffers. Visual art by CHS students will be on display on a large screen above the stage.

The program includes Dvorak’s “New World Symphony,” Grieg’s “Peer Gynt Suite,” Gliere’s “Russian Sailor’s Dance” and Brubeck’s “Take Five.”

While in the lobby, guests can see 12 violins from the Painted Violin Project, which supports the orchestra’s travels. Creations by David Summers, Cynthia Burke, Edward Thomas and other artists will be offered in a silent auction Monday through Feb. 17.

Admission is free. For details, call 245-2410.
