Local audience members have met their match — or at least their matchmaker.

If you haven’t had a chance yet to say hello to Dolly Levi, you’ll get a few more chances.

“The Matchmaker” has extended its run, by popular demand, and it marks the first time Live Arts has held over a show.

Three extra performances have been scheduled — for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. April 3 and 8 p.m. April 4.

If you’re in need of a good laugh lately, the courtship farce should be on your short list. Three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Thornton Wilder penned the play, which inspired the popular musical “Hello, Dolly!”

Long before online dating sites existed, bubbly Dolly Levi got to work helping people find true love.

Most folks know Wilder from the more serious works “Our Town” and “The Skin of Our Teeth,” but in this play, there are plenty of slamming doors, slapstick and a bit of cross-dressing thrown in for good measure.

Tickets range from $19.50 to $10. To get them, visit http://www.livearts.org or call 977-4177, Ext. 108.
