New for November
l Les Yeux du Monde:
Annie Harris Massie, who says she paints landscapes to capture the “essential character of a place,” will be showing her “Paintings and Drawings from the Landscape” through Nov. 29. There will be an opening from 5:30 to 7:30 tonight and the artist will be featured at Feast on Art at noon Wednesday. Reservations are required for Wednesday’s feast.

l Angelo:
McCrea Snyder Kudravetz’ recent photographic grid collages focus on details of the horticultural, urban, architectural and edible. Each collage rotates or radiates from a central point in a complex square grid. The results have been likened to quilt-like patterns, geometric experiments and meditative mandalas.
There will be an an opening reception for the artist from 5:30 until 7:30 tonight, and the two-month show will run through Dec. 31.

Katelyn Sack will unveil her new oil paintings, “Nocturne,” with a reception from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today.

l University of Virginia Hospital:
Oil paintings by Meg West will be on display in the main hospital’s lobby through Jan. 9. “Natural Sky Lines: Views from Virginia” will open with a reception from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. today in the hospital’s dining conference room.

l Cville Arts:
“Form Plus Function” by Jan Crowther will open with a reception from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight. Her functional stoneware pottery includes sushi trays, tea bowls and other Asian or nature-inspired motifs.

l McGuffey Art Center:
Oil painter Margaret Embree will be exhibiting her recent work that was inspired by an abandoned house on Carter’s Mountain. She used a combination of palette knife and brush techniques. “The Orchard House” runs through Nov. 23.

Randy Sights Baskerville’s “Virginia (and France) are for Lovers,” oil paintings of Charlottesville and Auvillar, will be on display through November.
An opening reception will be from 5 to 9 p.m. tonight.
l La Galeria:
A collection of scenes from the University of Virgina include works ranging from watercolor to photography. Local artists Christine Rich, Mary Porter, Peter Almonte,Tyvin Rich, Matalie Deane and Gwen Hoyle are represented in the show.
A reception runs from 5 until 8 tonight.

l Spring Street Boutique:
Creations in Stained Glass by Vee Osvalds will be the featured ehixibit this month. A reception will open the show from 6 to 8 tonight.
l Second Street:
Two Charlottesville artists — Leah Bailis and Dragan Crnjak — will show their work in the main gallery this month.
Bailis received a bachelor’s of arts from Bard College and an MFA from UNC-Chapel Hill. Crnjak has a BFA from the Myers School of Art at the University of Akron and an MFA in painting and printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Also at Second Street:
Colorado-based artist Corey Drieth, a former adjunct faculty member at the University of Virginia, returns to Charlottesville with a solo show in the Dove gallery.
Drieth uses gouache on wood panel.
There will be an opening reception from 6 to 8 tonight, with a gallery talk at 6:30.
