Art Notes for July 24

The Art In Action station at the Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center at Darden Towe will be geared to creating artist trading cards on Saturday and Sunday. Youngsters can paint or draw their own trading cards to keep or trade with friends. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 per person.

July 31 is the application deadline for the Second Annual Design Marathon taking place at Charlottesville Community Design Center. If you are a designer or non-profit and want to participate on a team you can download an application at www. designmarathon.wordpress.com, or pick up a copy at CCDC, 100, 5th St. N.E. 984-2232.

Flying Pig Art Center in Scottsville is offering Drop In Drawing and Painting Class on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call at least one day in advance to save a spot. Fee is $20. The center is at 561 Valley St. 996-7388. More information on the center is at www. flyingpigcenter.com.
