Four County’s ‘Othello’ traces jealousy to its tragic end

The green-eyed monster is alive and well tonight in Barboursville. Four County Players is exploring the depths to which jealousy and deceit can sink a friendship and a marriage in “Othello.” The production can be seen through Oct. 17.
Clinton Johnston directs William Shakes-peare’s tale of a general who marries a senator’s daughter and makes a dangerous enemy when he promotes someone else instead of the brilliant but bitter Iago.
Ray Smith plays Othello and Claire McGurk is Desdemona, his wife.
Also in the cast are Leslie M. Baskfield, Marcia Pentz, Sean Chandler, Nick Heider-stadt, Eamon Hyland, Alan Hickerson, David Zuby, Kath Torbert, David Vaughn Straughn, Ben Jamieson and Cameron Brasted.
Tracie Skipper is producer and lighting designer, Kerry Morgan is scenic designer, Dorothy Smith is costume designer, Wren Curtis is sound designer, Wendy Novicoff is properties mistress and Caitlin Lucia is stage manager.
