SEATTLE, Wash. (AP) _ With holiday travel getting into full swing this week, Alaska Airlines says there are ways to ease the holiday stress normally associated with flying.

The airline is Alaska’s major commercial carrier that serves Anchorage, the state’s hub, as well as the less populated regions.

Tips include:

— Checking in online. Passengers can check in online 24 hours before their flight.

— Understand carry-on limits and increased fees for bags being checked.

— Prepare for long lines at the security checkpoints.

— Leave gifts unwrapped. These packages are subject to inspection whether they are wrapped or not.

— Plan for extra time in getting to the airport. Parking could be limited and using shuttles is encouraged.
