It’s time to change detector batteries, not to mention clocks

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Sunday is the day to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

It’s also the day to make sure clocks fall back an hour.
Fire officials emphasize that working detectors save lives. A fire Thursday night that killed local drummer “Johnny” Gilmore took place in an apartment that had a smoke detector without a battery, Charlottesville fire officials have said.

Officials urge those wanting more information to call the county Department of Fire-Rescue at 296-5833 or the Change Your Clock Change Your battery hotline at (314) 727-5400.
