Marshman trial moved to August

Jason Scott Marshman won’t face a jury trial this week on murder charges in Charlottesville Circuit Court. The trial was moved from today to Aug. 4 to give Marshman’s attorney more time to prepare and find a ballistics expert, as well as guarantee the presence of a material witness who currently is in the hospital.
Marshman, 29, was charged with murder in the June 21 killing of 28-year-old William Miller Herndon. Herndon was shot to death outside of an apartment in the Westhaven complex.
Marshman previously was denied bond, and he remains in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
