The Commute
Don’t go back to Rio…you’ll waste a lot of time.
Wet and soaking rain
Grass grows, accidents flourish
Rush hour mushrooms

Avoid East Rio Road and Park Street from U.S. 250 to U.S. 29. Take the U.S. 250 Bypass or other alternative routes.
Eastbound Rio Road near CATEC Closed
The eastbound lane of East Rio Road will be closed at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 29 to relocate utility lines. The closure, scheduled to last until noon, will be just east of the bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad. The effort is in preparation for construction of the Meadow Creek Parkway project, according to VDOT.
Traffic will be routed in the westbound lane with flagmen alternating traffic flows. It will be a major snafu for motorists so either bring a lunch and a sleeping bag and maybe some Disney videos for the kids or flood the U.S. 250 Bypass with traffic. Any where you go, it will be slow.
I-64 in both directions at mile marker 113 near Charlottesville:
Construction. Minor delays.
Page Street and Hardy Drive:
Construction. Blocking one lane.
