The United Way-Thomas Jefferson Area and the Wardle Family Foundation are accepting applications for a grant program for nonprofits that serve the area.
The Initiative for Effective Nonprofits helps groups improve organization and business practices.
Last year, the program presented grants ranging from $2,200 to $5,000.
To be eligible, the nonprofits must serve residents in Charlottesville or the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson.
The grant application and guidelines can be found at http://www.unitedwaytja.org or by sending an e-mail to info@initiativeforeffec
tivenonprofits.info.
Applications are due May 15.
