A University of Virginia quarterback appeared in Charlottesville General District County this week to face a charge of underage possession of alcohol.

Alcoholic Beverage Control agents cited Peter Todd Lalich, 20, on July 13. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Lalich’s case was continued, according to court records.

During the fall 2007 football season, Lalich played in seven games. In the upcoming season, Lalich is one of three players vying to be the Cavaliers’ starting quarterback.

A call to the UVa athletics department was not immediately returned. Look for additional details in Thursday’s Daily Progress.
