Video Gaming Technologies adding 60 jobs at Greene facility
While the dismal economy is leading many companies to freeze salaries and lay off employees, Video Gaming Technologies Inc. in Ruckersville is bucking the trend and growing rapidly.
The business — which primarily develops bingo-based games for casinos on Indian reservations — is planning to hire 60 full-time employees during 2009.
All the new jobs will be at the firm’s Greene County facility, which already employs 155. The jobs will include positions for software engineers, quality assurance testers, project managers and others.
The Greene County office is the Tennessee-based company’s engineering facility.
Dana Tornabene, VGT’s human resources manager, said the company continues to profit despite the recession.
“We’re ecstatic,” she said. “It’s great to be part of a growing company.”
VGT has offices in six states. Its video gaming products are in use at 107 casinos, mostly in Oklahoma.
The company manufactures a long list of games, including its most recent additions: “Caribbean Cash,” “Jewel’s Dream” and “Squirrel’s Gone Nuts!”
