A former treasurer accused of embezzling about $650,000 from the Glenmore Community Association will face a grand jury Dec. 7.

Michael Comer, 45, waived his right to a preliminary hearing this morning in Albemarle County General District Court. He and his lawyer did not make a comment to the media after court.

Comer was reported missing for most of July, causing him to miss a meeting to discuss an audit of the homeowners association. He eventually turned himself into Wintergreen Police at the resort’s ski lodge. Comer has a vacation home at the Nelson County resort.
