False clues, clothes in hunt for Virginia Tech student

Police found clothing as they searched on and near the University of Virginia’s campus for Morgan D. Harrington, but none of it had anything to do with the case, according to a statement from the Virginia State Police.

Police also said Monday that they’re looking into Facebook and YouTube postings in their search for the missing woman, a Virginia Tech student who disappeared after leaving a Metallica concert in Charlottesville just more than a week ago.

Crimestoppers is offering a $100,000 donation for information on Harrington’s whereabouts, and Metallica is expected to add another $50,000 to the pot.
