Man arrested in Sept. stickups

Charlottesville police have arrested a city man in connection with two September stickups.
Richard Bernard Conry, 22, of Brookwood Drive, was arrested Friday and faces one count of malicious wounding, two counts of robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery, according to a news release from city spokesman Ric Barrick.

Sept. 12, a man robbed the cashier of the Exxon Station at 701 Cherry Ave. and got away with cash, according to the release. The cashier was injured during the robbery, treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center and released, the release stated.
The Wendy’s at 416 Fourth St. NW was robbed two days later, and a robber again got away with cash, according to the release.
Conry is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond, the release stated.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted on the case.
