Louisa County authorities have arrested a Richmond man in connection with an attempted solicitation of a 13-year-old girl over the Internet.

Julian P. Martin Jr., 53, was arrested July 2 and charged with using a communication device to solicit a minor under 15 for lascivious purposes.

The weeklong investigation involved undercover officers from the Louisa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Authorities said Martin agreed to meet the undercover officers who were posing as a 13-year-old girl. Martin suggested that they engage in sexual activity, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

Martin is being held without bond at the Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange County.
