Shooting deaths of 2 under investigation

A shooting in Madison County left a woman and a man dead. Shortly before 10 p.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that a shooting had occurred in the 3000 block of Ridgeview Road.
Inside the house, authorities found a woman lying on the floor with a fatal wound to her upper torso. The woman was identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Cynthia D. Nicholson, 34, of Madison.
Searching the residence for a suspect, authorities then found a second person dead. Manuel Paul Nicholson Jr., 35, of Madison, was located in the home’s garage with a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound to the upper torso, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The investigation is ongoing. No further information about the victims or the incident was available Saturday.
