Suspect in stun gun robberies to enter pleas

An 18-year-old man charged in connection with stun gun robberies at two city Exxons is scheduled to enter a guilty plea June 2 on some of his charges.

A Charlottesville grand jury handed down indictments last month charging Taquan Lovelle Anderson with 10 counts in connection with an Oct. 11 Cherry Avenue Exxon robbery and an Oct. 15 Emmet Street Exxon robbery.

Anderson appeared in court Friday on the indictments, which included two charges each of robbery, unlawful wounding during a felony, felony possession of a stun weapon and malicious wounding, and one count each of grand larceny and breaking and entering.

The grand jury also charged Anderson last month with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Anderson’s co-defendant, 19-year-old Nicholas Dar Robinson, was charged with being an accessory in connection with the Oct. 15 robbery. He is scheduled to go before a grand jury next month.

Anderson is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
