Education school plans vocational exposition
Published: February 4, 2009
The University of Virginia’s Curry School of Education will host an Educators’ Expo on Feb. 12 and 13 on the third floor of Newcomb Hall.
The annual event is free and open to anyone interested in K-12 teaching, counseling, speech pathology or administration positions.
The 75-plus organizations participating include public, private and independent schools, charter schools, educator placement agencies and alternative classroom educators from around the country.
The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 12, during which time candidates will meet with representatives and can request to be interviewed.
The Feb. 13 session is designated for pre-arranged interviews only — those that are arranged before the event or arranged the previous day. The interviews will be conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
No preregistration is required to attend. Officials advise attendees to sign in upon arrival, bring plenty of resumes and dress professionally.
A spreadsheet of participating organizations along with their 2009-10 anticipated hiring needs is available at http://curry.edschool.virginia.edu; select “Career Services” and see “Educators’ Expo.”
