PVCC playing host to workshop series for possible students

Piedmont Virginia Community College will host a series of free Getting Started workshops for prospective students beginning Thursday and continuing through May in preparation for summer classes that begin May 26.
Workshop participants can explore career paths, educational offerings and college costs at PVCC. Assistance with applying to Piedmont and registering for classes, as well as information about financial assistance and payment options, will be available at every workshop. Advance registration is required at http://www.pvcc.edu/workshops.

Explore Career Options. Learn about upgrading current job skills, switching careers or furthering your education by exploring PVCC’s job training and certification classes and associate degree programs. 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday; 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 7.
Explore Financial Aid Options. Learn about paying for college and complete the free application for federal student aid. 4 to 6 p.m. April 1; noon to 1 p.m. April 15.
Explore Transfer Options. Learn about PVCC’s transfer programs and guaranteed admission agreements. 4 to 5:30 p.m. April 29.
Explore PVCC’s Business and Technology Programs. Learn about PVCC’s programs of study and industry-recognized certifications in management, accounting, information technology, computer science, electronics, engineering and police science. 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 6.
Explore PVCC’s Health Care Programs. Learn about PVCC’s programs of study in nursing, surgical technology, emergency medical services, health (medical) information coding and biotechnology. 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 14.
