A former Fluvanna County prison guard accused of having sexual contact with inmates entered Alford pleas this morning to two counts of carnal knowledge in Fluvanna Circuit Court.

Patrick Gee, 45, admitted that while he maintained his innocence, he believed the prosecution has enough evidence against him that he would be found guilty at a trial. Each count to which Gee pleaded guilty this morning represents an inmate who told authorities that they had sex with Gee while he was working at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.

Gee was scheduled to go to trial today and Friday and again in November. Instead, he will be sentenced Dec. 19 on the two charges to which he pleaded guilty today and the four counts of carnal knowledge that a jury convicted him of last week.

Commonwealth’s Attorney Jeff Haislip said Gee will face up to five years of prison time on the remaining two charges. The jury recommended a 10-year sentence on the other four charges.
