Greene sheriff investigating parent, players

William Monroe High School is dealing with two allegations of “inappropriate conduct,” one of which is now under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.

The first incident involved apparent hazing by varsity football players.
The other case reportedly involved inappropriate conduct between a parent and William Monroe High School student-athletes.

Sheriff J. Scott Haas would say only that an investigator “is looking into it.”
Greene Superintendent David Jeck not be reached for comment.
He sent an e-mail Thursday to parents vaguely describing the incidents.

The e-mail states that student-athletes told school officials of “inappropriate conduct by a parent” and athletes. Administrators “promptly initiated and completed an investigation of the allegations and determined that the conduct should be reported to the sheriff’s office.”
The parent has been banned from school property and school-sponsored activities, Jeck said in the e-mail.

The hazing incident resulted in disciplinary action being taken against “the student who violated school rules,” according to the e-mail.
