Campaign jingle hits airwaves

The campaign of Democrat Tom Perriello has debuted a new radio ad running throughout the 5th District that features the campaign’s official bluegrass band, the Perriello Pickers.

In the ad, the band performs the campaign’s theme song, “Perriello for the Common Good.”

After a fiddle intro, the singer proclaims: “Travelin’ down these old roads of Virginia, I’ve seen hard times fallen on the land. Things ain’t getting’ done, up in Washington. The time has come to send the right man.”

Perriello is challenging longtime incumbent U.S. Rep. Virgil H. Goode Jr., R-Rocky Mount. The district includes the city of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene and Nelson and many more localities stretching down to Southside.
