Candidates to face off in Fluvanna

Candidates running for office in Fluvanna County will appear at a forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fluvanna Middle School.

The forum, sponsored by the Fluvanna County chapter of the League of Women Voters, is expected to feature candidates for the House of Delegates, Fluvanna Board of Supervisors and the Fluvanna School Board.
Del. Rob Bell, R-Albemarle, has told organizers that he will appear. Bell’s challenger, Democrat Cynthia Neff, has also said she will attend.

Also invited are Board of Supervisors candidates for the Cunningham, Columbia and Rivanna districts.
The Cunningham District candidates for the Board of Supervisors are Republican Donald Weaver, the incumbent, and his challenger Keith Smith, an independent. For the Columbia District, incumbent Marvin Moss, an independent, is facing Republican Shaun Kenney. And Joe Chesser, an independent, is unopposed for the Rivanna seat.

For the School Board, incumbent R.J. Searcy is facing Doug Johnson for the Cunningham District seat; incumbent Vivian Leach is being challenged by D. Brian Phillips; and Camilla Washington is unopposed for the Palmyra District seat.
