County Republicans report Election Day shenanigans

Republicans arriving at the party’s Albemarle County headquarters this morning discovered what appears to be an Election Day dirty trick.

Party officials say that someone sealed the building’s two doors overnight with some sort of epoxy.

“We eventually managed to force the front doors open,” said Chris Schoenewald, chairman of the Albemarle County GOP. “There’s some damage, but nothing that can’t be fixed.”

Schoenewald did not blame Democrats for the vandalism, saying that he has no idea who might have sought to lock out Republican volunteers on Election Day.

Albemarle County Republicans are working to elect their ticket led by GOP gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell.

McDonnell is facing Sen. R. Creigh Deeds, D-Bath County, in today’s election.

The polls close at 7 p.m.

Get over it. The length and breath of their political party’s crimes exceeds glued doors or locks.

Fortunately for them the Republican base is the ignorant but greedy voter. It’s a very forgiving base.

Sounds like a teenage prank.

Glad to see that the local Republicans found a real problem that they could address. Baby steps.
