Perriello to address NAACP banquet

U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello, D-Ivy, will be the keynote speaker at the local chapter of the NAACP’s annual Freedom Fund Banquet tonight.

The event, sponsored by the Albemarle-Charlottes-ville branch of the NAACP, is scheduled to start at 5:45 p.m. and will be held at the Charlottes-ville Doubletree Hotel off U.S. 29.
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the NAACP’s founding. The theme of the banquet is “We are 100 — The Legacy Continues.”
