North Anna siren test set for Wednesday

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Officials will test the early warning system at the North Anna power station at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

A total of 68 sirens in four counties — including Louisa County — within a 10-mile radius of the station will sound for three minutes.

The test is a regular quarterly event. The next test will be Nov. 18.

While the siren will sound one three-minute tone Wednesday, the signal for an actual emergency is four three-minute tones, with one-minute intervals of silence between.
